Overview

NAMASTE AND WELCOME TO NEPAL!

The east of Nepal is still a region largely unexplored by tourists and relatively untouched by outside influences. This is mainly due to the inaccessibility of the region and the lack of tourist infrastructure. However, for adventurous travelers, the east offers an amazing combination of beautiful landscapes, traditional culture, lifestyles, and remote communities.

Homestays offer a unique close-up glimpse of rural village life as well as directly supporting local economies and increasing their knowledge of the outside world – the locals are as interested in you as you are in them.

Wildlife-spotting activities are authentic, following the paths that local people use when navigating the area, and you are unlikely to see many other tourists. Kanchenjunga Landscape Area, very less frequently visited place, offers a greater chance of spotting the Red Panda along with other animals, including wild bears, various species of birds and butterflies.

While on trip, as per requirement in some hotels there are some deluxe rooms available too. But as a part of sustainable tourism and benefitting the local people, we, Community Homestay Network generally base our quotes on Community Homestay. The rooms of the basic lodges are very simple and with limited amenities such as bed, mattresses and pillows and these basic lodges are operated by the owner themselves. The bathroom may be attached or common too. While travelling to community homestays in the trip, we make sure that homestays are run by local family, having clean and good rooms, prepares hygienic food. WI-FI is generally available in all big cities and small towns. Depending upon the accommodation, Wi-Fi may be free in hotels but usually homestays have no Wi-Fi facilities.
Meals
Meals are vital part of every tours and treks. Healthy and Hygienic food is our utmost priority. While in big cities and town there are plenty of restaurants serving you all types of food from local cuisines to multinational cuisines? You have ample of choices to make where to eat or dine depending upon your budget and requirement. But while on trek, your choice become limited. Generally, as a custom, trekkers are required to take their dinner and breakfast at the same lodge where they spend their night. Dining out in different lodges is not allowed while on trek. The restaurants of the lodges are very simple and menu is limited. As per resources and availability, they generally serve Nepalese Cuisines, some additional dishes like fried rice, chowmein, spaghettis and thukpa etc. During the day time, your tour guide will be informing you about your lunch time and place. Depending upon the lunch place of the day, he may suggest you some delicacies. The quality of meals prepared may not be of the quality like you may find in big cities of Nepal but they will be delicious and hygienically prepared.
